Have you ever dreamed in a cartoon style? I never have before. It has usually been "real" people that I translate in to cartoon style. A few weeks ago that changed. My dream was a cartoon. This is one of the last scenes of the dream, in the exact style I dreamed and the exact dialogue I heard in my dream. It was shocking to see it so vividly in a dream, especially in comparison to the past few decades' worth of dreams. It was a bizarre and anxiety filled process to create that dream exactly as I saw and heard it. But I was so relieved and happy with what I created once I finished the piece.
I have taken to drawing the more vivid and interesting dreams over the past few years within a day or two of having them. It has been an interesting and informative process. I highly recommend doing it for yourself. You do not have to share it with the world as was done with this piece. But it is an amazing thing to bring the unconscious stories to life in the conscious world. It's a great way to confront the "inner demons" for us artsy-fartsy people. What I am getting at was that I had a positive turn in my mental health as I started to draw the crazy stuff in my head. And I share this story because I hope it will inspire someone else to express themselves creatively as way to work out a personal issue versus for fame and fortune for yourself or a client.
